A live property is one whose guest guide is currently published and available to guests. Draft, paused and archived properties are unlimited and free — you only pay for guides that are live at the same time.

Yes. Subscriptions are monthly (or annual) with no lock-in, managed through the secure Stripe billing portal in your account. If you cancel, your guides simply pause — your content is never deleted.
